Early Years Team

Our Early Years Team is made up of dedicated early years professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.  Some of our staff have come through our volunteering system and are level 3 qualified practitioners.

Their experiences are used to support the BD5 Children Centre Cluster with its aim to improve the outcomes for children 0 – 5 years by ensuring they all have access to high quality early years provision.

The team is ambitious and inspired by the Barnardos mission and one of its key mission which is to ‘Defend, safeguard and support children at key moments to change their lives for the better’. And for our early year’s team, it’s the early years – and early intervention at the key moments for children that makes a huge difference.

Family Support

We recognise that families need a broad range of practical support to meet the various needs of their family.

We offer support from guidance on children’s behaviour, a debt service, housing issues, an EU drop-in, parenting programmes, support to fathers and male carers, employment support, we support families that are suffering from domestic violence, and can support parents with children who have complex health needs.

Our Family Support Team is highly skilled and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of families and their children. Our Family Support Workers are bilingual, the languages they speak are, Urdu, Punjabi, Hinko, Pushto, Polish, Czech, Slovakian, Russian and Latvian.

Families needing additional support may be referred to our Children’s Centre by an external agency such as a Health Visitor or Midwife. Parents can also make a self-referral by coming in to one of centres or by telephone.
